Changes for September 2006 (initially only on Guild Server).

Reactivate skills
Eliminate SL effect on barriers.
Heroes only join the battle if they have a stack to command.
Reduce MC generation rate.
Remove explore limit, and increase the amount explored as the reset goes on (but explore will still approach zero at high land).
Allow non-guilded, allied mages to coordinate.
Nerfed resurrection by 25%
Nerfed dreams of seduction by 37%
Magical compass - added slight diminishing returns at high land
Greatly reduced sword for hire stack size
Full Ranking and Guild Ranking has a 30-minute delay
Removed 1000-turn requirement to see full ranking
Links in mail from black market
Improved pairing of knight templar (etc.) vs all flying.
Items sorted by name
Love & Peace gives diminishing returns at high pop.
50% less geld upkeep for Lizard Man, Hell Hound, Salamander, Hydra, Chimera, Dwarven Deathseeker, Wyvern
Zero geld upkeep for Fire Elemental, Earth Elemental
Titan: -33% geld upkeep, -30% hitpoints, new ability Healing

I undid the Titan HP and healing changes (will be copied to guild server at the end of the reset).
Mages on Apprentice server now start with +100 spell level, to compensate for not having ultimates.

Changes for January 2007.

Upgrade to the amail system.
Love and Peace reduces geld upkeep (removed geld income bonus).
Removed explore bonus late in the reset.
High priest: reduced pop cost to 1.
New white skill: Legendary Artificer.
Removed init bonus for level 20 undead mastery.
Skill point generation is based on land instead of guilds.
Removed skill point storage limit.
The Gods of Terra have become more jealous. There are no longer any 100% safe combos.
Love and Peace is permanent and dispellable.
M.P. charge (and gelding) applies the bonus turn by turn, instead of all at once.
Removed 1 or 0 mana dispel.
Can use multiple skill points a 1 go.
Black Death will not kill more than ~100,000 power per turn.
Turn off ranking delay at arma
Half casting cost for Dreams of Seduction.
Stacked healing abilites multiply instead of adding.
Un-nerfed Resurrection spell.
Boosted Pouch of Herbs and Strange Metallic Can.
Healing (hero ability) resurrects a percentage of your units.
Increased hitpoint penalty for Berserk.
Nerfed level 1 Terror.
Dread Knight gets Terror (16).
Nerfed level 1 Tactics.
Removed Tactics from Shieldmaiden.
Removed Animal Taming from Shepherdess
Shepherdess gets Peace With Nature (16).
Nerfed Peace with Nature.
Shepherdess is a nonbattle hero.
Removed Berserk from Amazon.
Amazon gets Animal Taming (12).
Boosted spells Platinum Hand of Healing, Regeneration.
Guildmates can see each other's allies in arena.
Barrier Proficiency gives free barrier resistance.
Barrier Proficiency is a plain skill.
Undead Mastery gives +1 init to simple and average units at level 20
Boosted Gate by 25%
Boosted Night of the Living Dead by 20%
Switched Amazon and Shepherdess favorite race.

Changes for March 2007.

Meteor Storm destroys more buildings than Death and Decay.
Fireball costs 20,000 mana.
Mental Thrash costs 20,000 mana.
Conjure Elemental is truly random again.
Removed geld income bonus for high town %.
Half turns gained from Wish.
Nerfed Grand Conqueror.
Dwarven Deathseeker: increased mana upkeep, decreased burst damage.

Changes for June 2007

- Devils are now a reinforcement stack.
- Add in DK changes from Beta.
- Make all offensive enchantments give winks when cast.
- Attacking off spells does not give counters if the speller is below 50% of your power.
- Delayed messages for dispels & ally battles, using a turn forces update.
- No upkeep for offensive spells
- Voting gives chance to get Lady Luck
- Number of paralyze effects restrict to SL
- Kiss of Vampire: gives accuracy boost to unit that already has life steal
- Show mages with counters in the war.cgi
- You can only have 3 Magical Compasses and 3 Minor Indulgences at a time.
- Destroy Artifacts has a 25% chance to destroy MC and MI.
- Luck gives +25% land exploring, instead of +1.
- Casting offensive spells on yourself does not protect you from others casting them.
- Corruption cost and summon rate is reduced by 70%.
- Chain Lightning no longer damages self.
- Doubled Inferno damage.

Changes for August 2007

Half mana upkeep for everything
You cannot summon with negative mana income
Griffon: -25% mana upkeep
Phoenix: -20% mana upkeep
Mandrake: -20% mana upkeep
Treant: -17% mana upkeep
Research is now passive
Skills are now passive
Limited land counters. You get extra counters if you lose land, but they eventually run out if you fail to take land back.
Increase Spell Penetration percentage, does not affects items anymore
Legendary Artificer changed to linear boost, affects item penetration on barriers
Legendary Commander does not increase ap/counter, increase accuracy, increase recruitment at lv 10, all units gain SIEGE ability at lv 20
Grand Enchanter automatically update SL for self enchantments if original is SL lower
Grand Conqueror at both level 10 and 20, conquers one extra fortress per battle.
Skill is depend on both guilds and land equally, max generation for guild at 5% of total land.
Short line showing time left 'til next turn.
Give the spells in same order to everyone during research.
Luck explore bonus is reduced to 10%.
New mages start with 600 acres.
Nature's Lore adds ap/counter/hp to animals.
Hallucination reduces effiency
Buff DoS, but it substract pop every cast.
Warlord race changed to Giant.
Increased dispel costs by 67%.
Reduced Confuse dispel effect by 40%.

Changes for November 2007

Astral Magician: 800 AP Primary 4 init, 700 AP secondary magic ranged 3 init, 750 hitpoints, resistances boosted slightly, abilities changed to SWIFT and ADDITIONAL STRIKE.
Siren: 1700 Psychic init 2 primary, 600 melee init 1 secondary, 600 hitpoints, resistances boosted slightly.
Shadow: +20% hitpoints, -33% upkeep.
Feet of Hermes is removed.
New Phantasm battle spell: Phase Step. (Description: This spell will give your units the ability to walk through walls and strike at unsuspecting enemies with greater ferocity. Area of effect: 1 random group.)
Hellhound: race Demon, +80% secondary attack, -12% hitpoints, new ability Fear, upkeep 0.12 mp, 10 gold.
Battle Lust: Reduced hitpoint penalty by 33%
Offensive spells have mana upkeep again (with a delay).
Offensive spell life is displayed for the caster (with a delay).
Apprentice mages cannot use guild recruit tools.
Guild invites do not work during armageddon.
Maxing out your pop space will still cancel recruitment, but you don't lose existing units.
Research order now shuffles correctly.
Legendary Commander: Boosts primary and secondary AP, removed Siege and accuracy.
Nodes and barriers can be captured in battle.
New Grand Conqueror: Max 58% total land captured at level 20, +1% buildings captured per level, +3% barriers captured per level.
Grand Conqueror only works on targets at least half your power in armageddon.
Demon Knight: 20% fire resistance, 25% verdant resistance.
Reduced SL effect on dispel cost.
Fixed bug that made dispel failure too high.
Built in dispel calculator.
Serenity dispels 1 spell with 100% chance, and each other spell with 40% chance.
-15% mana upkeep for djinni, air elemental, water elemental, ice elemental
-33% geld and items from wish
+33% turns from wish (7 at normal SL)
Removed Locate Artifact bonus from Legendary Artificer

When running oncolor Shroud of Darkness, the battle spells Fear, Curse, and Blacken Soul affect all units at half their original power.

Changes for December 2007

Vampire: +100% primary attack, +1 primary initiative
Barracks give 150 food and space for units.
Augment Summoning reduces unit mana upkeep, up to -10% at level 20.
Black Sabbath: removed pop income penalty.
Pegasus: +100% mana upkeep, -50% geld upkeep.
Rotten Food: Nerfed by 50%
Pipes of the Sewer: Nerfed by 50%
Voodoo Doll: Nerfed by 50%
Nerfed low-level Legendary Artificer, benefits are now proportional to the skill cost

Changes for January 2008

Concentration: increased research bonus for green and red
Single color research option
Black Sabbath doubles units' steal life ability.
On-color Kiss of the Vampire gives all units 10% steal life (does not stack with BS).
Double Mana Vortex
Boost Destroy Artifact by 50%
You can use multiple items at once.
Temporal Stasis Field has a chance to take turns when cast offcolor
Reduce population killing effect of Call Lightning by 40%. Add effect to CL that destroys 3,000 - 6,000 mana per turn (full red spell level).
Reduce Leviathan upkeep to 60.0 MP
Astral Magician changed, see here for the changes.
Unicorn -25% geld upkeep, +33% mana upkeep
Steal Life is capped at replacing combat losses if your mana income is negative
Touch of Necromancy is capped at replacing combat losses if your mana income is negative
Barrier upkeep increased 20% to 30 m.p.

Changes for February 2008

Efreeti: +16% mana upkeep
Miracle: Removed hitpoint bonus
Doubled size needed for "fake" stacks to be targeted
"Fake" stack targeting ignores ranged and flying modifiers
Legendary Commander: Nerfed by 33%.
Arena is limited to 24 refreshes per mage per day. Refreshing more often will display old data instead of locking you out.
Spending turns increases your rank list refresh limit.

Supporting Guild Improvements
  • Notepad
  • Sharing of Battle Reports with your guildmates (You have to explicit set in your options to allow your battle reports to be shared)
  • Showing Power Loss on the Battle Reports
  • Spell Tracker (With the same delay as the dispel page. This will also take up arena count)
  • Hiding of Non-attackable/pillage-able mages or hiding by mage color on the ranking page
  • Showing of Online Status for mage in the arena result (equivalent to the chronicles entry)
  • Showing of whether you can attacked the mage before in the arena result (equivalent to the chronicles entry)
    For example, if you attacked the mage in the last 48 hours, the 48h and 72h will be bold.
  • A building helper
  • Spell Tracker is shareable with allied guilds (You have to explicitly set it in Guild Management to allow your members to share their spells on the tracker with allied guilds)
  • Add mages to enemy list from their arena information
