Maintenance of UBB (and fixing Beta Portal Accounts)

Within the next days inactive accounts (longer than 6 months) will be deleted.

Ok. as many have seen an attempt to clean up the database on ubb resultet in a mess. The Database now has been restored to the latest timepoint backup.This means half a day of posting is gone:

• No posts exist anymore from Feb 4th 23:55 up to Feb 5th 12:15 (UBB time = GMT)

including the quoted announcement below.

We will have another go at cleaning the database as it consists of database relations that is incorrect and causing problems.

UBB maintenance in process (tricky business - DELETED UBB accounts will be restored approx. 14:00 CET)

We were trying to remove inactive accounts (>22000 were existing - that is too much - goal is to remove accounts that has not logged in with for 6 months). However, when attempting to do that, we discovered a bug in our forum table relations. The bug has its origin in the portal account and the ubb account systems being integrated. As a consequence, for ~5000 accounts something went wrong. We will now restore a backup of the UBB database, from just before our attempt to delete inactive users.
(after that, we will have to fix the relations and then we can attempt pruning inactive users again)


Expect restoring to happen around 14:00 CET.

Ok, as beta portal accounts has been removed some ubb account cleaning was necessary .. ALOT of accounts has been removed according to the following rules:

1. Accounts who have never posted, excluding new users from the past 180 days
2. Accounts who have never logged in, excluding new users from the past 180 days
3. Accounts which have never been activated, excluding new users from the past 180 days

Should there be accounts that has been removed that shouldnt have been removed then we are truly sorry for this, please register for a new account.
