A clarification:

While the guild cap and restricted diplo mechanics recently added to blitz have been around on lightning, and to a lesser degree beta, for some time, there have been requests to clarify what exactly is allowed and what isn't, especially those new to these rules.

The guild cap should be self-explanatory. No guild may have more than twelve members.

Regarding the removal of guild alliances and guild NAPs, there are some different implications. Since the decalogue, rule VI, requires an alliance between two guilds for them to be allowed coordinated attacks and information sharing, the removal effectively bans any such coordination. However, in the case of NAPs, since no decalogue rule regulates such agreements, guilds can still in principle mutually agree not to attack each other.

Thus, while the alliance removal forces a change in player behaviour, the NAP removal is more that of a withdrawn feature, which facilitated such arrangements. And while two guilds working together in violation of rule VI will be punished as an illegal alliance, there is no such thing as an "illegal NAP".

Any questions on this should be raised in the blitz assembly, or to me in private.
